International payments through Uzbekistan: what to check
Adding a country to a payment route does not remove banking checks or restrictions. Agree the permitted payment process, beneficiary and documentation before sending funds.
Check the provider
NAPP states that Uzbek citizens and legal entities must buy, sell and exchange crypto assets through national providers under the applicable rules. Verify the licence in the official register rather than relying on an intermediary’s claims.
Agree the purpose and documentation
- Confirm the beneficiary, payment purpose and supporting documents.
- Agree the payout currency, final amount, fees and timing.
- Check cancellation and refund arrangements before starting.
What cannot be guaranteed
Crypto assets cannot be used as a means of payment in Uzbekistan. Do not treat an exchange as a way to bypass restrictions or banking controls. Check the legal and tax implications of your own situation separately.
