How to collect Thai baht from an ATM without a bank card
If you have chosen an ATM payout for your Welcome Exchange order, this guide will help you collect your baht without a bank card. Your Welcome Exchange manager will agree the bank and amount with you, prepare the payout and guide you through the process. At some ATMs, you enter the withdrawal details provided; at others, you send the QR code displayed on the screen and wait for confirmation.
📋 Before you withdraw
To collect your payout, you need a phone with internet access and access to the chat with your Welcome Exchange manager. Stay in touch until you have received the money: the withdrawal details and confirmation apply to your current order.
How a Welcome Exchange ATM payout works
- Agree the amount in baht, the exchange terms and ATM collection with your Welcome Exchange manager.
- Choose a convenient ATM and tell your Welcome Exchange manager which bank it belongs to and where it is. Complete the requirements for your order and wait for confirmation that the payout is ready.
- At the ATM, follow the relevant bank instructions below. For a QR withdrawal, wait for confirmation before pressing Confirm.
- Collect and count the cash, then tell your Welcome Exchange manager how much you actually received. Report any difference immediately.
Check these details before you start
- Confirm your chosen bank with your Welcome Exchange manager before the payout is prepared.
- Agree the exact amount in THB, any fees and applicable limits. Do not choose a different amount yourself.
- For a code-based withdrawal, obtain the phone number and transaction code. For a QR withdrawal, stay in touch with your Welcome Exchange manager while you are at the ATM.
- Check the bank name and logo, not just the colour of the machine.
Button names and positions may vary between ATM models. If the screen differs from these instructions, send your Welcome Exchange manager a photo of the menu and wait for guidance.
| Bank | How you collect your payout |
|---|---|
| Krungsri | Phone number, amount and six-digit code |
| Bangkok Bank | QR on the screen → manager confirmation → Confirm |
| Krungthai | Phone number and withdrawal code |
| TTB | Phone number, withdrawal code and amount confirmation |
| Kasikorn / KBank | QR on the screen → manager confirmation → Confirm |
| SCB | Phone number, amount check and withdrawal code |
Use the transaction details provided by your Welcome Exchange manager: the phone number, withdrawal code or transaction QR code.
You will not need to share your banking app password, personal PIN or SMS login codes.
For Bangkok Bank and KBank, the QR code appears on the ATM screen. Photograph it and send it to your Welcome Exchange manager in your current order chat. A withdrawal code is specific to that payout; it is not your personal banking PIN.
📍 Choosing a convenient ATM
You can choose whichever of the banks listed here is most convenient for you. Find a suitable location on Google Maps, then tell your Welcome Exchange manager the bank name and location so they can confirm whether a payout is available there.
For example, search for Krungthai ATM. The correct spelling is Krungthai. Other useful searches are Krungsri ATM, Bangkok Bank ATM, TTB ATM, KBank ATM and SCB ATM. Check the address, access hours and location photos.
Keep a backup ATM within easy reach
Where possible, choose a location with ATMs from several banks. If your chosen machine is out of service or cannot dispense the money, you will have another option nearby without having to start your search again.
We recommend looking for ATMs:
- In shopping centres such as Central or Terminal, where several banks are often located together. Bank branches are frequently on the upper floors; check the centre directory for the exact floor and opening hours.
- At bank branches.
- Near 7-Eleven stores.
Contact your Welcome Exchange manager before switching banks. The phone number, code or QR session belongs to a specific payout. Do not enter the old details at another bank’s ATM; wait for new instructions.
💵 Choosing an amount and handling the balance
We recommend agreeing an amount in multiples of 1,000 baht — for example, 10,000 THB. In Welcome Exchange’s experience, ATMs often have no 100-baht notes available, and requesting an amount that includes hundreds can lead to a withdrawal error.
This is practical advice, not a rule shared by every bank: available denominations depend on the individual ATM. Do not change the amount of a payout that has already been prepared; agree any change with your Welcome Exchange manager first.
What happens to the remaining balance?
If the ATM can only dispense multiples of 1,000 baht, we can credit the remainder to your Welcome Exchange deposit balance or use it to top up a mobile phone balance. Agree your preferred option, the phone number and top-up availability with your Welcome Exchange manager.
For example, if your order entitles you to 12,350 THB, you can agree to collect 12,000 THB in cash and have the remaining 350 THB credited to your deposit balance or used for an agreed phone top-up. Confirm the cash amount and how the remainder will be handled before the payout is prepared.

↑ Back to contents❓ Frequently asked questions
Do I need a bank card?
No. You will not need a bank card to collect a Welcome Exchange payout using these methods. Use the prepared withdrawal details or the QR code on the ATM screen.
Do I need a Thai banking app?
Not for the Welcome Exchange payout process described here. You follow the steps at the ATM and stay in touch with your Welcome Exchange manager. Do not create a separate transaction from your own account.
Which phone number should I enter?
Use the number supplied by your Welcome Exchange manager specifically for this payout. Only use your own number if your manager has explicitly confirmed that the withdrawal is registered to it.
How long is the code valid, and how much can I withdraw?
Check the expiry time, limits, available amount and fees with your Welcome Exchange manager before you start. Conditions for one bank do not necessarily apply to another.
When should I confirm receipt?
After you have collected and counted the cash. Report the amount you actually received; an on-screen message alone is not confirmation that you have the money.
